Dubai Mall
The Dubai Mall is a venerable and much-loved Middle East destination—one of the first, best and biggest high-end malls in the world.
The building, located in Downtown in the (long) shadow of the Burj Khalifa, contains an incredible 1,200 stores, as well as restaurants, cafés, cinemas and entertainment zones, all sprawling across a 55-hectare site. One of the world’s most-visited buildings, it offers retail spots for practically every fashion brand on the planet, together with a welcome relief from the desert heat.

The Mall’s Fashion Avenue alone contains around 80 flagship stores, making it one of the largest concentrations of global fashion in any city. Arranged around an internal courtyard focused on café spaces by Armani and legendary Parisian delicatessen Fauchon, the Mall also contains a modern update of the traditional souk—a glamorous warren of gilded columns and patterned stone and metalwork. The Mall, which is still being expanded, also plays host to fashion shows and other exhibitions.
