1 Hour, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island

Twist in the Wind Yoga “Start with a sunrise session with Conrad Maldives Rangali Island’s yoga master Manesh Johnny! He’ll change your entire outlook on the morning, even if you’re not a morning person. The rest of the day will thank you for it — trust me! And if you’re traveling somewhere without access to a good local class, do a session with the help of the excellent Yoga Studio app and Amar Pal’s Kata Ranga Dekhi album. It’s supremely relaxing and invigorating all at once.”

3 Hours, Conrad New York

Cocktail hours in the Big Apple “You can’t go wrong with an Aperol Spritz in the summertime. If you’re looking for an easy-drinking, not-too-strong aperitivo to kick off the evening. Otherwise it’s a proper Manhattan, which most self-respecting NYC bartenders make with rye whiskey (a very New York tradition) not bourbon, which is too sweet for a Manhattan.”

5 Hours, Conrad Dubai

Fly high and cool down “Skydiving is an amazing experience anywhere on earth, but taking that 13,000-foot leap with Skydive Dubai (skydivedubai.ae) is pretty spectacular. From that height, you can trace the entire evolution of Dubai from desert outpost to 21st-century megalopolis — and see what an imprint man has made on this surreal, mind-boggling landscape. Seeing the Palm alone is worth the whole dive. The ideal cool-down after all that excitement is a mint lemonade served in a gorgeous tree-shaded courtyard at XVA Gallery & Café in Al Bastakiya. They blend lemon juice, fresh mint, simple syrup, and ice into a frothy granita-like concoction. Perfect relief.”
